The function of the Coffee County Soil Conservation District is to take technical, financial, and educational resources, whatever their source (public, private, local, state, federal), and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of soil, water, and related resources. All of Coffee County’s SCD district supervisors are very active and supportive of putting natural resource conservation practices on the ground and natural resource education in our schools. All of our board members are active in agriculture and conservation related associations such as the Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts, with our vice chairman being president, and the National Association of Conservation Districts. Our Secretary/Treasurer also served many years on the state soils committee.  Key individuals to reach program success are District Employees and Supervisors, NRCS District Conservationist and engineers, county landowners and officials, TDA, TVA, TDEC, Division of Forestry, UT Extension Service, TACD, NACD and All Federal Agencies.
